Opened and Closed on the same day, or b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing 4 Special Provisions: 1. The standpipes for the trench are to be found and repaired. 2. The sewer line between the tank and seepage pit is to be repaired. 3. The well is to be repaired to meet code. Repairs include having a pump, power, hose bib and be lined. There is a report by M -W Drilling that states that water is entering the well at 26.5'. This source of water is to be block with use of a liner. Also, confirm that the old water line that was cut when the public water line was run will not be allowing access to the well through the pitless adapter. 4. The well water is to be tested for nitrate levels. If.levels are high the well is to be decommissioned. The existing home was issued a permit for a 4 bedroom dwelling in 1974 (see attached) however, the system was installed for a 3 bedroom home. We are asking for an upgrade to actual 4 bedrooms, with the addition of a 1600 gallon tank and added leach area of 2 bedrooms. The existing pit was adequacy tested as capable of supporting this upgrade. Reserve area should not be required, as the original permit was for 5 bedrooms, nevertheless, there is a calculated 8350 S.F. available meeting the 150 soil requirement. Dear Mr. Specs, Transmitted herein are the results of an adequacy test performed by me on a septic system serving a three-bedroom residence at the above-referenced address. Existing System Des%~n and Condition The system in service at the time of this investigation consisted of a 1000 gallon, two-compartment steel septic tank manufactured by Greet Tank and a log crib seepage pit. The septic system inspection report (copY attached) issued by the Greater Anchorage Area Borough indicates the system was installed in Nay of 1974 by Berg Underground. Design of this system was based, on a soil absorption area of 124 square feet per bedroom. Four inch diameter east iron piping was used throughout the system. &dequacy. Test and Results A~equaey 'testing was begun on April 7 ar~ completed April 8, 1979. During the course of the test, nine hundred gallons on water were added to the seepa~e pit. The fluid levels in the seepage pit and septic tank were monitored continuously as the test volume was added. A~prox[mately 950 gallons of effluent were pumped from the septic tank after the test volume was added to the seeoagle pit. Fluid levels in the seepage pit and septic tank were then monitored for the next 24 hours. Based on my measurements of 'the fluid, levels in the seepage pit and septic tank, over the course of this test I concluded that the ~eptic system ir~ ~.ts present condition~ l) has an absorption capacity of 316 gallons per day per bedroom; Consulting services for: On-site water and sewer systems, geotechnical and mineral exploration programs, site suitabilitV studies Robert P.
