Overlap the top fabric flaps as shown. FOLD THE BOTTOM FABRIC FLAPS over the core joint as shown. FASTEN THE PANELS AT THE JOINTS using flat top roofing nails and T-nuts as diagramed. PLACE THE DRAIN PIPE between the fabric flaps as shown° Fold the fabric over twice and tape in place or staple every 2 feet. CORE. PLACE THE MIRADRAIN SECTIONS in the.trench by attaching rope to the fabric and stake in place° . OPTION. Miradrain can also be held in the trench using anchor pins. Be sure to fold ti?e fabric flaps over the top core edge before p~nning. BACKFILL AND COMPACT as soon as possible, After the backfill holds M~radrain in place, remove ropes and fold fabric flap over the core completely, covering the top edge to prevent soil intrusion. Extend the fill material a minimum of 6 inches above the Miradrain. HORIZONTAL OR SLOPED INSTALLATIONS Recommended Supplies: · Miradrain panels (fabric on one or both sides) · Anchor pins · Pipe PREPARE THE GROUND by removing all sharp objects and grading to remove all depressions. MIRADRAIN ASSEMBLY IN THIS APPLICATION depends upon the position of the material to be drained. In all cases, place the panels so that the fabric faces that material. During assembly, panels may be held in place with anchor pins. On sloped installations begin at the bottom of the slope. Underlyin9 Material Drainage Place Miradrain panels on the ground with the fabric side down. Peel back the fabric on the next panel 6 inches, fold the fabric back and interlock the panels with a 3 inch overlap. Overlsin9 Fill Drainage Place Miradrain panels with the fabric side up. Peel back fabric and interlock core with a 3 inch overlap. Fold fabric as diagramed at right. Two-directional Drainage Combine the above two methods. ENCLOSE ALL TERMINAL ENDS OF MIRADRAIN by folding the fabric over or under the core material, making sure that no core is exposed. PLACE FILL MATERIAL by pushing the material onto the panels. Do not use construction equipment or machinery directly on Miradrain. L) To the best of our knowledge, the information contained herein is accurate. ED TO :[NCLfJDE MORE THF:IN ]: December 21, 1978 Mr~Jerome Augdaht 'P.O. Box 10711 South Station Anchorage, Alaska 99511 Subject: Soils investigation for sanitary sewer system on: Lot 2, Block 5, South Hills Subdivision, Anchorage, Alaska. Dear Mr. Augdahl~ At your request of December 13, ]978, I conducted a soils inw~stigat~on at the proposed location of a sanitary sewer system on the subject lot. This investigation, which was accomplished on December 19, 1978, consisted of the inspec- tion of soils removed during drilling of a 8 inch diameter, 18.0 feet deep test hole, using solid flight augers, powered by a Nodwell mounted CME 55 drill rig. After completion of drilling, the test hole was filled with water and a percolation test performed. The results of this test are tabulated on an accompanying sheet. The soils encountered are graphically shown on the accompanying test hole boring log. The soils consisted of a layer of Organics and Peat 2.5 feet thick, overlying a Gravelly Silt with some Sand 6.5 feet thick, underlain by a Silt with a trace Clay to a total depth of 18.0 feet. The topography of the lot consists of a gentle slope in a northerly direction of approximately 5 to 10 per cent. Vegetation present on the subject lot consists of moderately dense spruce to 40 feet tall, an occasional birch to 30 feet tall, moderately dense alders and wil].ows to 8 feet tall, and a low ground cover of mosses and grasses. No water table was encountered in the test hole. An accompanying sketch shows the subject lot with the approxLmate location of the test hole in relation to the property lines. I appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this soils investigation.
