Re: Perculation Test on Existing Disposal System, ]Lot 1 & 2, Block 2,
South Lakewood Hills
Gentlemen:
On October 21, 1975, at the request of Mr.'Bill Swain of Jack White
Realty Company, our office conducted a perculation test on the existing
sewage disposal system located on the above described lots.
Mr. Steve Shrader, a staff engineer, conducted the test. On arrival, it
was necessary to fill the tank, as it had recently been pumped. Measure-
ments indicated a flow from the well of approximately 6.5 g.p.m. The
following table represents the depth from the top of the tank vent
(approximately 2.2 feet above ground) to the water surface in the tank.

~ Page 2 -
The meter used during the test was a 3/4" standard water meter which
was borrowed from the Amchorage Water Utility. The meter had previously
been calibrated and "okayed" for installation by the utility company.
You may note that during the progress of the test, the water level fell
0.35 feet in the tank. Also from approximately 12:30 until 1:30 the
flow into the tank, and subsequently into the disposal system was at a
rate of about 6.5 gpm, and from 1:30 until 1:50, the water level in
the tank dropped 0.80 feet, so recovery is quite rapid, and the receiving
subsurface material was well saturated at the beginning of 'the test.
From the preceeding data, I would conclude that the disposal system
is presently preforming in an acceptable manner for a private residence.
During the progress of the test, the well. and septic tank were also tied
in, with all dimensions in respect to the residence. The distance from
the well to the tank is approximately 115 feet, as shown on the attached
sketch. The disposal system would have to be either to the north or west
of the tank, as the ground rises sharply to the east.
If you have nay questions or need any additional information, do not
hesitate to let us know.
Very truly yours,
