The owner is looking to transfer title. During the COSA process it was noted by the contractor (A+ Home Services), that the existing Greer tank is in failure (see attached report). We are proposing to remove the existing septic tank per UPC and install (in the same hole) a new 1500 -gallon epoxy coated steel STEP tank. We are proposing to utilize the existing lift -station components with the new tank. It should be noted that the subject lot is on public water and the proposed tank location will meet all MOA code required separation distances. We are submitting this design and permit application for the construction and placement of a new 1,500 - gallon S.T.E.P. Tank and absorption system. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the septic system along with the proposed septic system location. The lot is served by a community water system. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system or the water service line on this lot. The test hole recently placed on the lot revealed silty gravel with no ground water. The new system is designed to conditions found in this test hole. No bedrock or impermeable material was found in the test hole, but it will be deepened to 15' prior to construction to verify this condition. The new absorption trenches will be placed parallel to the surface slope which drains to the southwest at a grade approximating 25%. The trenches have been designed to meet the steep slope criteria of the Municipal Code. The distribution line will be placed 3.5' below the surface measured from the downhill side of the trench. Storm water runoff will not impact the new absorption system. The new septic system will be constructed a minimum of 200' from the existing community well and 100' from any private wells. It will also be 100' from surface water and more than 5' from the existing absorption trench. Please refer to the attached plan sheet for the septic design.
