Y ot,q~,^~ Dear Ms. Oswalt: You expressed five concerns regarding the sewer design submittal for Lot 1, Block 4, Stolle Subdivision. All sewers and wells within 200 ft of the system are shown on the attached design revision. No curtain drains or streams are within 200 ft of the proposed system. Minimum insulation/soil cover requirements are shown on the design. Also indicated on the design is an appropriately sized reserve area for a bed of similar design to the proposed system. The locations of the cleanouts have also been changed to comply with municipal requirements. The use of a single monitoring well is sufficient to accurately gauge the water level in the area of the proposed system, since the surface and subsurface conditions and surface elevation within the proposed system area do not vary. A field inspection indicated that the silt layer shown on the soils log is permeable, as it contains a significant amount of sand and gravel. The client is not planning to drill a well until the next year. A proposed well location is indicated on the design. The owner does not wish for us to acquire a well permit at this time. It is noted on the design that a permit is required prior to drilling the well. Below is a narrative of probable impacts to adjacent properties. Adjacent Wells - There are no existing wells within 100 feet of the proposed new septic system. All adjacent wells have positive drainage away from the well head. The proposed absorption field does not adversely impact adjacent wells. o Adjacent Wastewater System - All the surrounding lots are undeveloped except for the lot immediately to the south. An absorption bed is also in use on that lot. Reserved Space - Adequate space remains within a 30 foot radius of the test holes immediately to the southwest of the proposed system. The reserve space can accommodate a bed 72 feet long and 12 feet wide. Drainage - The lot slopes (5 to 10%) tOwards the southwest. Positive drainage away from the field and existing wells will he maintained.
