(N£ 1/4, E 1/2 - Timothy Subdivision) Dear Hr. Candee: ~The State Department of £nvtronnmntal Conservation has granted you a waiver on your sewer system. This will also be acceptable to our Department. After doing another inspection on the first house north of you, it was noted that their standpipe was only 80' from your well. [f this stand- pipe serves a septic tank, it would be approved by this Department. it serves a seepage pit then ! could not approve your well until the seepage pit is moved to at least 100' fromyour well. After 48 hours, the significance of the bacteriological onalysi~ In collecting samples from TAPS or PUMPS proceed as (a) Thoroughly flush tap or pump by allowing water to run freely for five minutes. (b) Shut off water and flame the outlet with torch or burning paper. The flame should not be merely passed over lhe outlet but should be applied until fixture shows indication of being hot. Flame should be directed against inside edge. (c) Open fixture so that c~ small stream flows. (d) Remove bottle from mailing tube. Hold bottle by the lower half in one hand and with the other remove the screw cap with the fingers, leaving fall protecting cover in place. Pill the bottle to the shoulder. Replace cap with foil cover; screwi~tg firmly hlto place but do nor apply pres- sure which will split cap. (e) Pack bottle carefully in mailing tube enclosing this completed information sheet.
