PERCDLAT!ON TEST: The percolation teste for' this design were done=. by David R. Daybon, P.E., who is now deceased. It is my understanding that bhe homeowners may have a copy with his original signature on it, If necessary, they Call present it to your office prior to issuance of the permit. I inspected the site on 6/16/95 and monitored for groundwater. Both monitoring tubes were dry. During construction I will visually inspeob the soils to eneure that they are consistent with David Dayton's pencolation tesbs. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: As can be seen from reviewing the~ attached percolation test results, the soil "perked" 1.5-20 minutes/inch at the location proposed for the system.. Ibis corresponds to an application rate of .6 gpcl/ft2. Since the proposed home has ~ bedrooms, the total design flow is 450 gpd. Based upon this, the minimum amount of absorption area is 750 ft2. The propose(:{ trench is 2 feet wide, 5 feet deep and 75 feet long, providing an absorption area of 750 ft2. 3. SEPI'IC TANK: : The homeowner wants to install a t500 gallon septic tank rather than a 1000 gallon tank; 4. As indicated on our application, we plan on putting in our own system. We feel capable of perforlning the work for the following reasons: 1. My husband is knowledgeable in operating heavy equipment as he worked for Cook Inlet Pipeline as a utility pipeliner. Duties included operating vm'ious pieces of equipment such as dozers and backhoes. 2. Our father will be assisting and has experience as he installed his own system.
