A requirement of Change Order No. 2 to the initial permit was to provide verification that no impervious soil layers were found at least 15' below the surface. The test hole provided for the absorption trench extension extended to 14' below the surface. Our study of the surrounding lots indicated that all subsurface soils in the area are consistent with silty gravel found to all depths on the lots studied. Test holes were found to depths in excess of 14' on several lots including Lot 11, Block 3, Lot 12A, Block 3, Lot 12B, Block 3 and to 18' on Lot 7A, Block 4 which is found immediately east of the subject lot across Hilltop Lane. We are submitting this design permit application for the construction of a new 4-bedroom septic system. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home as well as the proposed and existing septic location. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system, whether on this lot or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot is relatively flat. There are no slopes greater than 25% within 50 feet downslope of the proposed site. Storm water drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible. All adjacent properties are on the municipal water system. The new system will be a minimum of 100' from all wells and surface water,and more than 5' away from the septic tank. We request a provision to the permit requiring a new test hole and percolation test be completed prior to construction. Results to be submitted with the inspection report. WELLS: The adjacent lots are serviced by city water. Since no wells are present, separation between the proposed septic system and wells will not be an issue. WASTEWATER SYSTEMS: Both of the bordering lots have septic systems which are well beyond the required separation distance. The proposed system will have no impact on these systems.
