Dear Mr. Nichots~
Subject: Lot at Northwest Corner of Center Street
and Old Seward Highway (Walter Stephen)
This office has no objection to the location of the well
and sewage disposal system for the subject property.
This is premised on the fact that the building will
have a single restr0om. If a different type development
with more sewage generating capacity is proposed, then
the protective radius will have to be increased accord-
ingly.
Sincerely
SuperviSor

The exploration was conducted using a truck mounted Mobile Drill
model B-50 drill rig with a continuous flight, solid stem auger.
The rig was owned and operated by Denali Drilling, Inc. Drilling
was supervised and the test holes logged by ~r. Peter Herstek,
staff technician with Alaska Testlab.
The test hole was placed at the approximate ].odation shown on
the Figure 2. The log of this test hole is included as Table A
of this report.. In interpret, ting the log it should prove helpful
to utilize the ey.p]anatory information contained in sheets 1 to
3 of this report.
Because of the clean nature of the soil., no perculation test was
performed. Instead, the .soJ_l samples wore visually clas.~:Lfied,
grouped and a mechanical analysis rnn on both groups, q'he results
of %his analysis J s hewn on sheets 1-2.
Though the soils ~mcountered are class~z].ed SP/SM they are on

an SP soil.
~',,"a would give this soil a maximum absorption area rat.-.inq of 150
square feet per bedroom. Our o>[perJcmce runnJnQ percu]ation I:osl::;
in these type soils, suggest a rating of about 100 square feet
per bedroom, would be more representative.
Caution should be exercised in placing the drainage f[e].d. It
must. not be placed in the fill material on thc site. ],eeI it in
the native soils on the west thirty to forty feet of tho property.
We hope this report meets your present needs. If we can be of
further service, please do not hesitate to contact us.
