SPECIFICATIONS FOR TRENCH - TURNAGAIN SUBDIVISION LOT 10
BLOCK 1
1.0 GENERAL
1.1 THE DRAWINGS, SHEETS 1 THRU 5 SHALL BE A PART OF THIS
SPECIFICATION.
1.2 ALL MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP SHALL MEET THE
REQUIREMENTS OF ANCHORAGE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PERMIT.
1.3 ALL EXCAVATIONS AND DEPTHS ARE ADVISORY AND ARE TO BE
VERFIED OR MODIFIED IN THE FIELD BY THE EXCAVATOR.
1.4 IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER TO OBTAIN ALL
NECESSARY PERMITS OR EASEMENTS.
2.0 LIFT STATION (NOT USED).
3.0 TRENCH
3.1 THE GRAVEL FOR THE TRENCH SHALL BE SIZED BETWEEN 0.5 TO
2.5 INCH AND RELATIVELY FREE FROM SILT OR SAND.
3.2 THE DISTRIBUTION PIPE SHALL BE 4 INCH RIGID PVC OR
POLYETHYLENE. THE PIPES SHALL BE LAID LEVEL.
3.3 AN OBSERVATION PIPE SHALL BE PLACED AS SHOWN IN THE
DRAWINGS. IT SHALL BE RIGID PVC, ASTM 3033 D-3034. THE
SECTION SHOWN WITH HOLES MAY BE EITHER DRILLED 0.5"
ROLES @ 6 INCH CENTERS oN OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE PIPE
OR A REGULAR SECTION OF REGULAR PERFORATED.
DISTRIBUTION PIPE MAY BE CLAMPED TO THE SOLID SECTION
WITH A NO HUB COUPLING OR SOLVENT JOINT. A RUBBER RAIN-
CAP (JIMCAP OR EQUAL) SHALL BE PLACED ON THE TOP THE
PIPE.
3.4 THE GRAVEL SHALL BE COVERED WITH A LAYER OF UNTREATED
BUILDING PAPER OR A NONWOVEN FABRIC SUCH AS MIRAFAR,
FIBRETEX 200 GRADE, OR POLY-FILTER X OR EQUAL.
3.5 THERE ARE ~F WHERE TO LOCATE TRENCH. OPTION
1 IS PRIMARY, OPTION 2 IS BACKUP AS IS OPTION~3.
SOIL CONDITIONS NEED TO BE VERIFIED WITH EITHER OPTION
AS PERC TEST HOLE IS MORE THAN 10 FT AWAY FROM ALL
OPTIONS. AT THAT TIME TRENCH LENGTH CAN BE MODIFIED
AS TO EFFECTIVE ABSORPTION AREA REQUIRED.
4.0 INSULATION
4.1 THE 'INSULATION SHALL BE ARCO GEOFOAM EMBANKMENT
INSULATION BOARD OR EQUAL.
