After investigating the complaints, I'found the following: (1) The four-plex well is one-hundred thirty five(135) feet from the seepage pit standpipe located on Lot 5 Block 3 Turnagain Subdivision, and one-h~%dred nineteen(il9) feet from the septic tank standpipe located on Lot 2 Block 3 Turnagain Subdivision. CT/ ON RECEIVED Subject: L4, B3 Turnagain Subdivision Dear Mr. Grey: At your request we have reexamined our conditional approval of the separation distance waiver for the class C Well lo- cated on the subject lot. It is our feeling that the poten- tial for contamination is sufficient in this case to justify grouting of the upper soil strata. If this was a flowing artesian well, we agree that contamination from the surface would be highly improbable. This, however, is not the case as the static water level is about 50 feet below the ground surface. In addition, I feel we were misled when the case was first presented for construe-ion a~since the in- formation regarding the neighboring septic systems was not furnished. This was accomplished by jetting grout pipes to the pre- determined 33 foot elevation,.and withdrawing these as the grout was pumped under pressure. 2~wo grout pipes were inserted for this purpose in order to provide an uninterrupted curtain around the well casing. The grout pump has a maximum pressure capacity of 150 PSI. As recommended, the grout procedure was discontinued at 15 feet in order not to encase-the pitless adaptor. If you concur in the above stated procedure and agree that the work as completed will meet the requirements set forth in your letter of April 13th, please sign in the space provided.
