Request for well-holding tank distance separation exception, new Girdwood Fire Station The attached request for a waiver of distance between a holding tank and a well for the new fire station at Girdwood, was received by this office. Public sewer will be available next year to this facility so we would allow the holding tank. However, we request your conm~ents and approval/disapproval of a distance waiver. Blair Re: New Girdwood Fire Station Exception for well location Gentlemen. Attached find site plan of proposed project taking note of well and temporary holding tank locations. According to Mr. Reford G. Reid, Civil Engineer for the Anchorage Sewer Utility, the new Girdwood sewer system will not be operational until September or October of 1978. Since the new fire station may be ready for occupancy prior to that time (as early as May 1, 1978), a temporary holding tank is planned. Water for the new facility will be from an on site well which we propose to locate within ten feet of the southeast corner of the building. Due to the short period of time the temporary holding tank will be needed, plus the added cost to the limited budget, we hereby request a waiver of the ~50' separation requirement between the new well and the holding tank to a minimum of 75'. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We await your response at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, William E. Merry Ogawa & Merry, J.V. cc: L. Browning H. Holtan R. Ogawa R. Reid D. Shephard
