Dimond Blvd. Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a permit to upgrade the septic system for the above referenced property. The owners are building an addition to the existing house and existing septic system is not sized properly. The proposed system will serve a 5-bedroom single-family residence. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Calcs: No Groundwater observed to a depth of 17.5 feet below ground surface (6/28/2011) Soil Rating: From Testhole 6/15/2011 3.2 min/in = 1.2 gal per sq.ft/day No. of Bedrooms 5 Required Area per Bedroom: 150/1.2 =125 sq.ft. Total area required: 125 x 5 = 625 sqft System: The existing system consists of two single compartment concrete tanks in series. The tank volumes are 1350 gallons respectively. The baffles in each tank will be replaced. A new deep trench subsurface absorption field will be installed it will be 60 feet long and 2 feet wide and contain 7 feet (840 sq.ft, effective) of sewer rock. Soils: A test hole was excavated on June 15th, 2011. See the attached soil logs. Ground water was monitored for through June 28th, 2011. Ground water was not observed. The soils in the area are very consistent. I have submitted the soils log for WoodCliff S/D lot 2 which confirms that the soil classification and percolation rate does not change. Environmental Consulting and Design I No surface waters were observed within one hundred feet of the proposed Topography: The lot slopes to the east at approximately 1-2%. Waivers: None required. The installation of this septic system will not prevent wells and septic systems from being installed on the adjacent lots. The proposed septic system will not change the general slope of the area.
