The proposed system will serve an existing four bedroom (4) bedroom house. Currently the lot is developed. The existing tank is in failure and the owner wishes to replace the existing drain field before it fials. The existing crib will be abandoned per code. This lot and the surrounding developed lots are served by a community water system. Required separation distances to wells will be maintained. Soils. One test hole was performed on the lot by PES and groundwater monitoring was performed. Groundwater was not observed to a depth of 18.5' and bedrock was not encountered. Based on the results of the percolation tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 0.8 gallon/day/square feet was used for a conventional wastewater system in the area of the test hole. 2. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 1 of the design package. 3. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and drain field. The proposed drain field upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 4. Topography: The existing topography generally slopes from the west to the east in the area surrounding the septic system of approximately 20% with a slope of 40%-45% directly downhill of the system. The system will adhere to the steep slope provisions of the code. 5. Drawing Markings: The Drawings are marked "For MoA Review Only". When written notification that the review is complete and that there are no further comments is received from MoA On -Site Department, the note will be removed and "Issued for Construction" drawings will be issued. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of June 26, 1974, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971 by Mr. Roll Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of EnPironmental Quality~ A single test hole was put down within the Lot 9 area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with a tractor-mounted backhoe and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 12.0 feet below ground surface. The final log prepared for the test hole has been included in Drawing A-01, Ground water was not encountered in the test hole. We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you.
