RE: SEPTIC SYSTEM UPGRADE PERMIT
LEGAL: VALLI VUE ESTATES #1 BLOCK 1, LOT 20
The property owner has requested we obtain a permit to upgrade the failed septic system of the
above referenced lot. We propose to install one deep trench and 15000-gallon tank to serve the
existing 5-bedroom residence. The design is based on the recent test hole conducted on
December 7, 2020. No groundwater was observed at test hole excavation or monitoring.
The slopes are 12-17% at the proposed upgrade location. The lot and area are served by public
water. The design will not impact any of the neighboring properties. Please contact us if you
have any questions.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
We are submitting an application to upgrade the septic tank for this lot. The owner of the property would
like to make an addition onto the house over the location of one of the current tanks. The owner would
like to replace both tanks with one 1500 gallon tank. Due to interior plumbing restrictions we must have
two lines feed the proposed septic tank. The submittal consists of one (1) drawing showing the present
improvements on the lot and the proposed improvements of the lot, of which only the septic tank is
subject to this permit application.
The installation of this septic tank will not prevent wells and septic systems from being installed on the
adjacent lots. There are no developed or natural surface / sub surface drainage courses within 100 feet of
the proposed septic tank location. The proposed septic tank will not change the general slope of the area.
Ponding and/or concentration of surface runoff will not result from this installation.

Dear Mr. Nugent:
We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments
regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investi-
gation was perJ~ormed in accordance with your request o~ September 12,
1972, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971
by lVir. Rol~ Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Depart-
ment of Environmental Quality.
A singl& test hole was put down withEn the Lot 20 area for the purpose of
defining general subsurface soilcondi% ions for the proposed sanitary sys-
tem. Excavation was accomplished with a mounted backhoe and the test
hole was extended to a total depth of 12 feet below ground surface. The
final log prepared for the test hole has been included in Drawing A-01.
Ground water was not encountered in the test hole.
