Dear Mr }{ayes: At your request of May 23, 1979, I conducted a soils investigation at the proposed location of a sanitary sewer system on the subject lot. This investigation, which consisted of the inspection of soils removed during the digging of 16.0 foot deep test pit, using a wheel mounted Drott Backhoe. The soils encountered are graphically shown on the accompanying test hole log. The soils consisted of a thin layer of Organics and Organic Silt with some Sand and Gravel 1.0 foot thick, overlying a Sandy Gravel with occasional cobbles to a total depth of 16.0 feet. No water table was encountered. The topography'of the lot is essentially flat, with a barely perceptible slope to the Eas~. Vegetation present on the subject lot consists of dense narrow birch to 30 feet tall, with some low bushes, willows and alders, and a low ground cover of mosses and grasses. An accompanying sketch shows the subject lot with the approximate location of the test pit in relation to the property lines. I appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this soils investigation. Very truly yours, Consul~ Geologist Attachments: Drawing of test hole log with location sketch. xc: Department of Health and Environmental Protection (V~ :,l) 330' Lot 188, Sec 18, of original BLM Plat,~15N, R1W, SM, Alaska. 2.5 Acres. .... ~ ,~__~,T.H.
