An inspection of the individual on-site sewer systems of the
above subject property was made by this department. In order
to evaluate the adequacy of the system an absorption rate test,
as explained in the attached sheet is required. This test is
to follow Step B, after the standpipe to the seepage pit has
been located.
A thorough search of our files indicated that the installation
of the sewer system was designed and installed for a three(3)
bedroom single family dwelling. The original permit issued to
you, also, was designed for a three(3) bedroom single family
dwelling. This department will be unable to give its approval
for a four(4) bedroom single family dwelling as requested
unless the system is upgraded.

Instructions for On-site Sewer System Test
The Department of Health and Environmental Protection has been
requested to evaluate and approve the sewer facilities serving
your property°
When your sewer system consists o£ an absorption pit and possible
septic tank, standpipes are required to provide access to each
component of the system. Older sewer systems which have septic
tanks not documented by an installation inspection must have the
manhole exposed. In order to evaluate the sewer system, an absorption
rate test is required. The test is conducted by using one (1)
of the following two (2) methods. Your inspector will note which
A. The addition of fresh water to the seepage pit and measuring
its rate of absorption over a twenty-four (24) hour period. The
homeowner has the responsibility of ordering 1,000 gallons of
fresh water by contacting a cesspool pumper and requesting the
water delivered at a specified time, excluding Fridays. The delivery
time MUST BE correlated with the department to insure an inspector
is present during the test. The 1,000 gallons of water is discharged
into the seepage pit, the septic tank pumped for maintenance
purposes and to insure the pit test is not affected during the
~enty-four (24) hour period.
~ Seepage pits which are nearly full must have ONLY the SEPTIC
~ANK pumped twenty-four (24) hours prior to conducting the absorption
rate test on the pit. The pit test will be conducted by the cesspool
pumper bringing 1,000 gallons of fresh water to the site. Five-
hundred gallons of sewage will be removed from the pit, measurements
taken and the pit filled to the maximum crib height using the
five-hundred gallons removed plus a portion of the 1,000 gallons
as required by the inspection. Correlation of the cesspool pumper
truck and the department to insure an inspector is present during
the pit test is the responsibility of the homeowner.
In instances where the sewer system consists of a septic tank
and drainfield, this department must be i~ediately notified and
the septic tank exposed for documentation. An alternate method
of testing is required and will be explained to you.

District,Third Judicial District, State of Alaska.
NOW, THEREFORE, for the reasons stated above, Grantors declare as follows:
1. Grantors do hereby grant an easement, as long as Lot 54's leach field is in use by
the owners of Lot 54 and such use conforms to the terms of this easement as set forth below,
through and over a portion of Lot 53 for the use of Lot 54, and except as provided expressly
herein. Said Easement shall be a ten-foot by two-foot work area at the point of the
encroachment of the septic leach line that is encroaching 4 inches over the common lot line
to both affected properties, more specifically as shown on Exhibit A, attached.
2. Said easement shall be for the purposes of allowing a leach field by the owners of
Lot 54 and their successors in interest to allow maintenance of the septic leach field and
septic leach line for the existing sub-surface sewage treatment system as of the date of this
easement. This easement shall run with the properties described herein and shall be a benefit

to and binding upon the undersigned and any person who shall hereafter acquire title to said
properties, except as provided expressly herein.
3. In the event that the owners of Lot 54 or their successors in interest remove or
replace the sub-surface sewage treatment system which exists as of the date of this easement,
or cease to use said easement for the specific purposes of maintaining septic leach line and
septic leach field for said sub-surface sewage treatment system, this easement shall
immediately terminate,and the owners of Lot 54 shall be required to relocate the sub-surface
sewage treatment system so as not to encroach on Lot 53.
4. This easement is made for the purposes of operating,maintaining, inspecting, and
repairing the leach line and leach field of the sub-surface sewage treatment system which
exists as of the date of this easement,and shall in no way permit the owners of Lot 54 or their
successors in interest to construct any permanent or temporary buildings or other
improvements within the easement.
