After discussion with your office, we were able to adjust the tank location and confirm during insulation that the septic tank maintained a 10' separation to the water line. However, it was unfeasible to dig up the septic field with the intent to relocate the water line. We have discussed the situation with the DEC and they confirmed that they do not regulate that. The home owner is aware of the situation and the lack of separation will be clearly documented with these record drawings We request a waiver for 0' separation from the existing septic field to the water line. Comments regarding the proposed system are as follows: 1. The west- end of the new trench is located less than 50 feet (approximately 20 feet) from a slope which drops at 50% down to Maintree drive. The elevation of the drain pipe in the trench will be located several feet higher than the toe of the slope_ However, due to the fact that the soil percolation rate is less than 5 minutes per inch there is reason to believe that it will migrate downward rather rapidly and not travel horizontally and surface at the slope. For this reason, as well as the fact that there is no other suitable place on the lot to put a trench, I am requesting that you wave the 50 foot separation requirement. 2. The location of buildings and septic systems on lots 1 & 2, block 5, Valli Vue #2 were estimated due to the Fact that as-buil.ts were not on record with local title companies. The general location of the septic systems on the subject lots were obtained from DHHS records, There does not appear to be any septic systems from which the separation distances can't be maintained. There are no wells on any of the lots in Valli Vue #2 to be concerned with. The well on lot 1, block 1, Four ways subdivision was not located; however, in order for the new trench to be less than 100 feet from this well, the well would have to be located less than 10 feet from the septic system on lot 1, block 5, Valli Vue #2. This corresponds to an application rate of 1.2 GPD/ft2_ Since the home has four bedrooms, the total design flow is 600 GPD. Based upon this, the minimum amount of absorption area is 500 ftz. The subject design provides a total absorption area of 550 ft2. 4. As a -Final note, it will be difficult to insure that the separation distance is maintained between the existing crib and the new trench. The primary reason for this is that the boundary of the crib is unknown. I am not aware of any impacts that this installation would impose on adjacent wells, or septic systems.
