Septic System As Built and Certification
The As Built for the septic system on the subject lot has been modified to include the
existing components of the septic system which were properly abandoned during
construction. We have also corrected the typographical error which indicated the
distribution pipe was out of level. The pipe was installed level.
A dispute still remains between the owner and the installer. Until that time the installer
will not accept responsibility for the construction of the system.

Septic System Design and Permit Application
Impacts to Adjacent Properties
Dear Onsite Services Engineer;.
The existing absorption system on the subject lot has failed and must be upgraded.
We are therefore requesting a permit be issued for the upgrade of the septic system to
accommodate the four-bedreom home on the lot. The attached Site Plan and backup
documentation identify the location and configuration of the existing septic tank and
absorption pit and the proposed septic system. Also identified on the plans are the
locations of the existing well. No conflicts exist between the proposed septic system
and the wells on adjacent lots. Drainage arrows are shown indicating the current
drainage patterns. The drainage patterns will be maintained after construction.
The test hole placed on the lot at the location of the new absorption trench indicated
poorly graded gravel with some sand and silt (GP/GM). The percolation rate was
determined to be less than 1 minute per inch. We are proposing to construct a 1,250
gallon septic tank and a 50' long by 5' wide absorption trench with 4' of gravel beneath
the distribution pipe. The distribution pipe in the trench will be placed at 3.5' below the
surface with the total depth at 7.5'. The existing septic tank and absorption pit will be
pumped, crushed and backfilled and abandoned in place.
The ground surface on the lot slopes slightly to the west at a grade of 8%. The new
trench will be constructed parallel with the slope as much as possible in conformance
with Municipal requirements. The new septic system will be constructed a minimum of
100' from the existing well and any surface water in the area.
If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements
apply:
Lot 13, Block 3, Valhalla Subdivision
July 11, 2006
Page Two
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells
in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing
septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve
space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on drainage
patterns in the area. The current drainage pattern will be maintained.
Sincerely,
Michael E. Anderson, P.E.

Engineer's Comments:
In conducting this evaluation, GEG, LtD. attempted to provide a thorough,
conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with ADEC and MOA
DSD Guidelines & Regulations. The reported results described the performance of the
system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation
distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational life of afl wells and
septic systems depend on the local soils condition, groundwater levels that may
fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system.
These conditions are outside the control of the evaluator of the system. Satisfactory test
results do not guarantee future performance of the system, nor do they guarantee that
there are no hidden defects or encroachments. GEG, LTD. can therefore not provide
any warranty or future estimate of how long the system will continue to meet the
operational requirements of the ADEC or MOA DSD. The content of this report is for
the sole benefit o~ the owner listed above. Any reliance upon or use of this report by any

Ref: Lot Line Waiver Request for Valhalla #1; Block 3, Lot 13,
To whom it may concern:
We request that your department issue a 6-foot lot line waiver from the west property line to the
existing drainfield. The existing drainfield on Lot 13 has a separation distance of approximately
6 feet (to the lot line) and the drainfield on the neighboring property (Shenandoah Hills
Subdivision Lot 3) has a separation distance of 10 feet per moa records, which indicates that we
have approximately 16 feet of separation between the two drainfields. The existing drainfield on
Lot 13 has 4 feet of effective and the drainfield on Lot 3 has an effective depth of 8 feet. This
requires a minimum separation distance of 16 feet between the two drainfields. We are unaware
of any adverse impacts this waiver would have on adjacent wells or septic systems. If you have
any questions, ple~s~ contact us at 33 7-6179. Thank you for your assistance.
