Lot 1, Windchime Subdivision Upgrade Permit Gentlemen: My firm was contacted to investigate the possibility of installing of a replacement system at the above referenced property. The existing bed system has failed. The system was installed in 1983. A single test holes was excavated on November 6 1996. The soil report and percolation test results are attached. No ground water was encountered. However, ground water was monitored in test hole 1 of the original design at seven and a half feet below ground level. The intent of this design is to replace the existing bed with an identical bed. Contaminated insitu material will be removed and disposed of on site. Approximately one foot of filter sand will be placed in the bottom of the excavation to bring the bottom of the bed to a four foot separation distance from observed ground water. The lot is approximately an 1.25 acres in size. It slopes to the north at a rate of approximately three to five percent. The proposed installation will be located greater than 100 feet away from the well serving this property and 25 feet from the water service lines. The surrounding systems are located greater than 200 feet from the proposed installation, the adjacent lots are undeveloped and will not be impacted with the installation of the replacement system. The neighboring well, across DeArmoun Road, is located greater than 200 feet from the proposed system. The existing septic tank is located inside the well radius for this lot. It will be inspected and if found competent, a waiver request will be submitted for the reuse of the tank. An upgrade was performed and inspected by Bob Pratt on October 20, 1978 listed as Lot 1 Windchimes. April 11, 1978 file S-4694 by John Lynn indicated soils satisfactory for subdivision, however, the soils analysis on each lot had some discrepancies; the test holes were thirteen(13) feet deep and thirteen and one-balf(].3½) feet deep, and neither were perked. The subdivision is not a recognized subdivision as yet by thJs department. The soils test submitted should not be used for permit basis due to no percolation tests.
