Ali_ the soils taken are acceptable for on-site sewer sytem. For those lots where the soils are less than 16 ft. deep, it didn't require going any deeper because of the physical characteristics of the soils or water. Several holes were terminiated in the 13 ft. range. The deep soils in those holes were very tight. It would be more suitable to use a higher level. The only area where the soils could be questionable would be Lot 8 of Block 2. We noted a fair amount of water in the eastern part of the lot. To the west there's a sharp drop and it is drier in that part of the lot. A soils log shows from 0 to 1 ft. there is an organic loam and then from 1 to 3 there is a very tight GM type material. The water is lying under the loam organic layer and above the GM layer. Directly under that layer is good material for an on-site system. My advice would be to construct a shallow trench that would drain that lot starting at the toe of the slope and carry the water to the edge of the lodge. The area where we dug the test hole and the area immediately to the west of the bench should be designated as the area for an on-site sewer system. The test holes for Lot 4 was moved closer the proposed street and just to the northwest of the dogleg in the creek set back.
