An adequacy test on the drainfield has been recently been performed by GG, Ltd. and found it to pass for a 2 -bedroom system. In order to simplify the operation and maintenance of the system, we are proposing that this unit be permanently configured as a CAT II system. Our justifications are as follows: The receiving soil has a percolation rate of 17.1 minutes per inch. Given this percolation rate, a 2.0 gpd/sq.ft. application rate is required for a Cat II system. The home has 2 bedrooms, so 150 sq./ft. of absorption area is required for a CAT II effluent (300 gpd / 2.0). The existing 2013 drainfield has 180 sq./ft. of absorption area. The approved On-site Wastewater Inspection Report stamped signed on 2/20/2014 shows the soil rating to be 4.0 gpd/sq.ft for a Cat III system. We request the inspection report be amended to show a 2.0 gpd/sq.ft. application rate for a Cat II system (see attached). At this time, we request that your department approve a CAT II configuration to be used at the referenced property. Upon your concurrence, we will have ARM Septic Service, LLC., go to the property to remove the actuator from the ball valve, leave the valve in the open position, and have the lace a CAT II sticker on the control panel. The owner desires to have his own private well. hi order to do so, we are proposing to completely abandon and decommission the existing drainfield and septic tank, cap the existing water line at the south property line, and drill a well new private well in the northwest area of the property. We are proposing to install a Quanics Aerocell CAT III treatment system on this property which includes the installation of a 1500 gallon S.T.E.P. tank and deep trench type drainfield. One test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design drawing the topography around the drainfield is relatively flat. In short, there are no slope concerns. The AWWTS shall be maintained in a satisfactory condition capable of performing as designed and producing treated septic effluent in accordance with the equipment's approval for operation in the Municipality. It shall be the responsibility of the Owner during the term of this Agreement to pay for all repair(s), maintenance, adjustment(s), replacement costs, and inspection costs. This includes an annual maintenance fee (typically $400 to $600). Owner agrees that only maintenance and repair personnel approved by the Municipality J or the manufacturer's representative will inspect and make any necessary maintenance, repairs or permitted alterations to the system. Owner acknowledges that regular maintenance of an AWWTS reduces the potential failure of the system, which could include sewage backup and costly repairs or drainfield replacement.
