Septic System Permit Request
Ladies and Gentlemen:
P.O. Box 102954
;e, Alaska, 99510
I am writing to request that a permit to install a new septic system be issued for this lot. The proposed
systems will serve an existing four-bedroom house. Currently the lot is developed. The existing septic
system was designed and installed for a four-bedroom house and is operating in a failed condition. The plan
is to install an upgrade to the existing field and install a new 1250 gallon septic tank. The existing septic
tank will be abandoned per code. The surrounding lots are served by private water systems and are over 100
feet from the proposed soil absorption system. The existing well is located in the southern portion of the lot,
greater than 100 feet from the proposed system and from the neighboring septic systems.
1. Soils. The soils were investigated during October of 2007. Ground water was monitored in the test holes
at a depth of -9.0 on 9/23/07. Bedrock was not encountered in the test hole to a depth of 12 feet. It is my
opinion that the overall soils appearance of the soils, an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/square feet
should be used using a standard treatment system.
2. Upgrade Field Design.

3. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed system. The proposed systems
will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. There is a creek located to the
west of the proposed system, but it is located greater than 100 feet from the proposed system.
4. Topography: Lot 2 slopes to the southwest at approximately 15-20 percent based on existing contour
information. The proposed installation will be located in the central portion of the lot, greater than 50
feet from slopes greater than 25%.
The proposed installation will not affect the future development of the surrounding or existing lots. There
are no wells or septic systems within 100 feet of the proposed septic location.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 272-8218.

Septic System Permit Request
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am writing to request that a permit to install a new seplWtem be issued for this lot. The proposed
systems will serve an existing four-bedroom house. C y the lot is developed. The existing septic
system was designed and installed for a four-bedro se and is operating in a failed condition. The plan
is to install an upgrade to the existing field and i new 1250 gallon septic tank. The existing septic
tank will be abandoned per code. The surroun ' s are served by private water systems and are over 100
feet from the proposed soil absorption syste existing well is located in the southern portion of the lot,
greater than 100 feet from the proposed snd from the neighboring septic systems.
1. Soils. The soils were investigateng October of 2007. No ground water was monitored in the test
holes to a depth of 12 feet be] nd level. Bedrock was not encountered in the test hole to a depth
of 12 feet. It is my opinion tworoverall soils appearance of the soils, an application rate of 1.2
