We are therefore applying for a permit place a new septic tank and absorption system on the lot to serve the existing three bedroom home; The attached Site Plan and backup documentation show the location anG configuration of the new septic syStem and the loCation of the existing well and septic system. The 100' protective radius for the well and neighboring wells is also shown on the Site Plan Two testholes were placed on the lot to find an acceptable location for the upgrade. Both holes revealed sandy silt material which percolated between 20 and 30 minutes per inch. Groundwater was noted during excavation at approximately 12' below the surface. The level rose to between 11' and 11.5' period which is probably the high water period for the year. We have therefore designed a 5' wide shallow absorption trench with 2'of gravel beneath the distribution line. The tota depth of.the trench will be 7' below existing ground. Two trenches a total of 110' in length will be constructed. Each trench will be 55' long and a Zabel fl0w splitter valve will be placed to assure even distribution of effluent to each trench. The lot surface is basically flat with shallow slopes from southeast to northwest at 0% to a maximum of 1%. The existing septic.tank and absorption crib wil be oumped. crushed, backfilled and abandoned in place. The existing tank is currently within the 100' protective radius of the well and the crib is just outside the radius. The new system will be constructed-entirely outside the protective radius. Placement of the new system in the location shown will have no effect on wells or septic systems on adjacent lots. If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements apply: The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 2. Dear Sire: Sewer for the subject lot consists of a 750 gallon septic tank and a seepage pit with a total effective absorption area of 468 square feet. The sewer sgstem was inspected and approved on June 2~, 1970. Water iaS~upplied hy a drilled well 65 feet deep, and a water sample fr~the well was satisfactory. The well casing extends above ground hut there is a pit .around the well. The pit must he filled in and the pressure tankiin the pit placed underneath the house.
