CE 8326 Reviewed and approved b ~Date: ff -~ 2 -¢~ Inspection Report for Onsite Wastewater Disposal System, Lot 1, Block 8, Riverview Estates Subdivision (off Hiland Road, Eagle River) August 15, 1999 I visited the site about 6PM and staked proposed locations of trenches and septic tank. It was raining° There was no water at the peizometer at TH1. At TH2 the water level was lower than elevation 92.0' based on assumed elevation of 100.00 at 5/8" rebar at NE property corner. August 24, 1999 I visited the site about 6PM and inspected the trenches. They were excavated to a constant elevation of 91.0. Trench sidewalls had been scarified and no smearing was observed. The septic tank was installed level while I was present. The weather was partly overcast. August 25, 1999 I visited the site about 6PM. I discussed pipe with owner. He will use ASTM F810 for perforated pipe and ASTM D3034 for non-perforated pipe including standpipes. It had been raining steadily all day. The trenches looked good with no standing water. August 26, 1999 Around 6PM I inspected the project. The rain had ceased. Drainfield gravel, pipe network and geotextile fabric had been placed. Installation appeared good. August 27, 1999 At about 6PM I inspected the project. Drainfield pipe network had been covered with 2" of 'blueboard' extruded polystyrene insulation and backfilled with 2' of native material. The sewer line from the septic Eank to the drainfield had been similarly insulated and backfilled. The septic tank was also insulated and backfilled. There are no wells within a 100 foot radius of the proposed drainfield. Two test pits were dug in the general area proposed for a drainfield. At test pit 1, no groundwater was encountered. Water level was monitored and no water was evidenced. The water was monitored to a depth of 16 feet below grade and an elevation of 83.82 feet based on an assumed elevation of 100 feet at the northeast property corner. At test pit 2, water was encountered about 8 feet below grade. After monitoring, water level at this test pit was determined to be at elevation 92.0 feet. Grade slopes from the east and south at about 80% toward test pit 2 and then gradually slopes away at about 5% to the north. Twenty feet south of test pit 1 grade slopes from the south about 60%. From test pit 1 grade slopes generally to the north and west at less than 5%. This topography explains the higher water level at test pit 2. The proposed drainfield consists of a "u" shaped trench close to test pit 1. The bottom elevation of trench will be at 91.0. This will insure a separation of at least 7' to ground water. Because of the percolation rate of 27 minutes per inch, an infiltrative area of 0.6 square feet per gallon was designed. As shown on the enclosed drawings the trench system will have an infiltrative area of about 780 square feet, slightly higher than the 750 square feet required for the proposed three bedroom house.
