Ref: Septic Tank Upgrade for Lot 5, Block 2; Skyranch Subdivision #2
To whom it may concern:
The existing 3 bedroom house is served by a community well and a private septic system that
consists of a 1000 gallon septic tank and two drainfields. The existing septic tank has collapsed
and needs to be replaced immediately.
We propose to abandon the existing septic tank in place. It will be replaced with a new 1000
gallon steel septic tank. Double clean -outs are to be installed before and after the new tank. We
request that you issue a permit to upgrade the septic tank as soon as possible.
I am unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic

Gentlemen:
At your request of. January 17, 1979, we conducted a test of the septic system
on the above described property. The upgraded systems reportedly consists of
a septic tank, seepage pit and drainfield.
During the test the liquid level in the seepage pit was monitored as water
was added to the system. The measurements are summarized in the following
table:
The meter used during the test was a Rockwell 5/8" standard water meter which
had previously been calibrated by R&M Consultants, Inc.
If the 3 bedroom residence on the property is to house 6 people, the average
load on the system can be expected to be 450 gallons per day or .31 gallons
per minute. The average effluent acceptance rate determined during this test
is approximately .56 gallons per minute.

Certificate of On Site System Approval (COSA)
The property on the subject lot is a foreclosure and is transferring title to the new owner.
No records are available as to when the septic tank was last pumped. The new owner
is paying all of the fees required to obtain the COSA. He is satisfied at this time that the
septic tank does not require pumping. We have probed the tank and found few solids.
Pumping the tank now would only remove water and not improve the interior condition
of the tank. We therefore request the COSA be approved with record of the tank being
pumped within the last year.
The as built for the property is to scale. It was originally completed in July of 1974 and
recertified in January of 1979. The most recent septic system as built was completed in
1999 and shows no encroachments at any location on the lot. This as built was
completed based on swing ties from the house which was accurately located by the
land surveyor. The septic system as built is therefore accurate. No further changes to
the property have been made since that time. We reiterate our request based on the
circumstances mentioned above that the requirement for a new as built be waived. The
buyer is aware that when he sells the property a new as built will be required.
