Owner Glen Eagle S/D, Block 3, Lot 23616 Sunny Glen Drive Eagle River, Alaska PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND GENERAL SITE INVESTIGATION REPORT On April 8, 2014, an adequacy test was performed on the well and septic system at the above-described property. The well passed, but the septic system, with a four foot wide trench, did not as the water rose above the invert of the distribution pipe during testing. On April 30, 2014, David Mallars dug a test hole to a depth of 14' near the existing leach field. Ground water was observed seeping into the hole during excavation. A monitoring tube was installed and after approximately 30 minutes, the water level was measured initially and again after seven days. It was determined that the existing leach field is too close to groundwater and is possibly even in ground water at the bottom of the trench. It is proposed that a replacement system be installed in the area designated on the attached design documents. A percolation test was performed which resulted in a soils percolated at a rate of approximately 1.65 minutes per inch. It is proposed that a 15'x38' bed be installed as the replacement system. The proposed design is sufficient to serve a three-bedroom house on the referenced 0.9 acre property. The lot slopes approximately 0-5% in the area of the proposed leach field. The parcel is treed with spruce, birch, and alder, with birch being predominate. There are no water wells or streams within 100 feet of the proposed replacement septic sytem.
