Soils: A test hole was performed on this lot by Pannone Engineering Services, LLC on 12/6/2023. Groundwater was not observed during the excavation of the test hole, and bedrock was not encountered. No groundwater was observed in the test hole monitor tube after 7‐days. Based on the results of the percolation test and overall soils appearance an application rate of 1.2 gpd/SF was used for the design of a conventional wastewater treatment system in the area of the test hole.  The soils found in the test hole visually meet the criteria in 15.65 and USCS as sand even though the soils were tested at just below 1 mpi.  The surrounding soils found nearby were found in every surrounding test hole with percolation tests available (6) to be 1‐5 mpi.  Based on the criteria set in 15.65.210C Exception an application rate of 1.2 gpd/sf should be used. 2. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 1 of the design package. 3. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and drain field. 4. Topography: See attached site plan for area topography. The system will be installed on a slope that ranges from 30%‐60% in places. See waiver request. 5. Drawing Markings: The Drawings are marked “For MOA Review Only”. When written notification that the review is complete and no further comments are received from MoA On‐Site Department, the note will be removed and “For Construction” drawings will be issued. A test hole was performed to confirm the soil profile and percolation rate used for design. The allowable space on the property is minimal, hence the proposed drain field design. PES proposes installing a 65 Linear Feet 5‐wide trench with four (4) feet of gravel below the invert of the pipe. Installing the drain field anywhere else on the lot would encroach into surrounding well radiuses. Due to the nature of and drainage capacity of the soils found in the area (HSG A) the designed infiltration line of 46% for septic system installation on steep slopes should be used instead of the assumed/worst case soil classification infiltration line of 25%.  The slopes and soil types allow for infiltration of the system effluent without the effluent “daylighting” at any distance of concern. Granting this waiver will not pose a threat to the safety of this lot or the surrounding lots. Please contact me if you have any comments or concerns.
