The drainfield is encroaching groundwater and is surcharged and must be upgraded. A test hole was excavated northwest of the existing drainfield. The new drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We propose to replace the existing tank with a new 1250 gallon septic tank and dual 5 -wide drainfields. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: 10 minutes/inch b. Allowable Application Rate: 0.8 gallons/dayIR2 c. Number of Bedrooms: 4 d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day e.
