This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of August 20, 1973, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13~ 1971 by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality. A single test hole was put down. within the Lot 16 area for the purpose of def_ining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposad sanitary system. E×eavation was accomplished with an auger type driliiag rig and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 17 feet below ground surface. The final log prepared for the test hole has been inc]_uded in Draw Lng A-01. Ground water was ~].ot encountered in the test ho].eo We appreciate being given th:La opportunity to be of service to yo,,~. OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION September 7, 1973. / POUCH 0 -- JUNEAU 99801 Mr. Rolf Strickland Dept. of Environmental Quality Greater Anchorage Area Borough 3330 C Street Anchorage, Alaska 99503 SUBJECT: Lot 16, Blko 7, Granite View Subdivision Dear Mr. Strickland: We have reviewed a plot plan presented to this depart- ment by the developer, Mr. Sam Hill and feel that the waste- disposal system can be placed on the lot in an acceptable manner without creating any problems or health hazzards. It would appear that if the system is placed in the upper right hand corner of the lot when the plot plan is correctly oriented that the hundred foot distance from any existing well can be met. This will however involve crowding the property lines somewhat but I do not forsee this as a problem. Also we would not object, due to the location of the wells, if it were not possible to maintain a strict one-hundred feet, and it would be necessary to crow~say 95 feet or so. If you desire any further clarification on this please do not hesitate to contact me. Yours truly, Regional En¥ironmeYr'~al Engineer cc: Sam Hill March 20, 1975. It is our finding that since you had o~.mership of the lot on or before February 5, 1973 m~,d that you intend to construct a private residence for )'our personal use, th, at this particu- lar Section of the h'aste Water Regulations is not applicable in your CaSe. We ~could however advise you that of course all existing Borough Rega~lations are in effect and are app]_~cable in all cases except where State requirements are more stringent.
