Dear Mr. Butera:
Your request for a waiver of the 100 foot separation required
between the well and septic tank on the subject lot has been
granted. This distance has been waived to 84 feet.
This waiver is based on the fact that the septic tank in
question is in good condition and that the topography and
hydrogeological conditions in the area provide protection for
the water supply.
This waiver applies to the existing concrete tank only.

Dear Mr. Morris:
On behalf of my client, Mr. Don Ryan, I am submitting the
information necessary for your determination of a waiver of separation
distance, well to septic tank, to 84' for the above referenced lot.
The existing tank was installed in 1972 and was inspected and
approved by the Municipality at that time, as per the Inspection
Report enclosed. A new well was drilled in 1974 utilizing the
previously required separation distance of 50' to a septic tank. Our
field measurements confirm the tank inlet to be at 84' from the well.
It is our request to retain the existing tank. We have gone to the
expense of uncovering the tank to check its present condition and
found the tank to be in excellent condition with proper inlet and
outlet connections. It is our intention to replace the existing
seepage pit with a leachfield with a capacity of five (5) bedrooms, an
upgrade plan is attached for your review.
The file well log shows that the well draws from a sand and
gravel aquifer at a depth of 174'. The casing is continuous to 174'
with a static well level of 147' below the ground surface. The well
was pumped at a steady rate of 5 GPM with 12' of water surface
drawdown to a level of 155' after 150 minutes of pumping. The surface
topography is such that any surface septic seepage would be directed
away from the well location toward a slight slope paralleling the well
to the east at 100' distance. The subsurface soil is a GM type with a
pete. rating of 306 underlying a GW type soil. The area in question
has a low population density.
