The previous design was based upon soils logs, perks, & test hole locations documented by another engineer. During the pre -construction site visit it became apparent that there were no test holes anywhere on the property. Consequently, the installation was cancelled and as a result two test holes were excavated in the area of the proposed septic system. The septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radius of these test holes. We are proposing that a 1250 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the design.are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils an application rate of 1.0 gallons/day/ft should be used to account for potential soil variations. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: <1 & 15 minutes/inch 2 b. Allowable Application Rate: 1.0 gallons/day/ft c. Number of Bedrooms: 4 d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day 2 e. Minimum Absorption Area: 600 ft f. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design drawing, the area of the proposed septic system is relatively flat. In short, there are no slope concerns.
