Date: 6/12/23
Legal: DALE BRIGGS BLK 1 LT 14
Address: 11127 ASHLEY PARK LN, Eagle River, AK
Class: Commercial Businesses Lots 14-17, Public Water Well
Water Well:
Static Water Level: 18.8 below top of well casing (TOC)
Well Casing: 1 above normal ground level
Storage: Pressure Tank, Large Storage Tank w/ Jet Pump
Treatment: None
Flow: Well Produces 20 + gpm;
Drawdown stabilized @ 33 while flowing @ 20 gpm
Results: Well capable of greater flow; larger pump required to test full capability.
Water Samples: Well water was sampled for bacteria, metals, & total nitrate/nitrite, as well as a
full PIWA. Samples were satisfactory. The nitrate/nitrite slightly elevated @ 4.11
mg/L, but below the treatment level of 10 mg/L.
Concerns: At a 33 drawdown distinct noise could be detected, possibly indicating
perforations in the well casing. The well cap was not connected properly,
recommend a new sanitary seal for the well.
Regulatory: The State DEC was consulted to determine if this system could be classified as a
Public Water System. DEC currently does not regulate systems which serve under
25 persons per day. If in the future the population served by this water system
increases to 25 persons per day, the system will have to be registered by the State
DEC and meet the requirements of DEC.
The Municipality of Anchorage currently regulates residential but not commercial
properties. The MOA was consulted on this property and stated that since it was
primarily serving commercial entities, it did not fall under MOA code.
