A Category II Biocycle serves the residence, 1600 gallons. A previous soil test is being used for design; groundwater depth as indicated.The design calls for a new deep trench and 3'extension of existing trench to allow diverter valve. The existing Biocycle absorption trench is currently surcharged. A design is submitted for a new trench,using existing Biocycle. The neighboring lots are developed as indicated in the drawing. Previous test hole being used- notes indicate groundwater @ 12'. A 6' deep trench will be excavated. The easements are located on the drawing and are not encroached upon. An additional test hole will be completed during construction, if required. A Category II application rate of 2 GPD/FT2. Trench Length= 300 FT2/4'x 2 = 37.5'; 1 line @ 38'.No bedrock was encountered. A perk rate of 22 min/inch was used from previous soil test. A 1-foot lot line waiver is required. Extend the existing trench from 35'to 38'-this will allow a diverter valve to utilize either trench in the future. Specification Requirements: All components and work must comply with the Municipality of Anchorage Specifications(AMC)& State of Alaska Drinking Water Regulations and Wastewater Regulations. • Connect New Trench To Biocycle. The mitigating factors involved which support the issuance of the waivers are as follows: Reference the site plan/topo, surface effluent would not flow toward the well. Generally speaking, septic tanks should not be considered a "continuous" source of contamination as would a leachfield. Nitrate sample taken from the well located on the referenced property indicated 0.10 mg/1. 4. The house is located between the well and the septic tank.
