MIGLIACCIO Mr. Tom Gause 1000 BoniEace Parkway Anchorage, Alaska RE: Test Hole and Soll Log Report, Campbell Heights Subdivision, Lot 4, Block 1~, Anchorage, Alaska Dear Mr. Gause, We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investigation was performed in accordance with your verbal instruet~on of May 23, 1972 and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971 by Mr. Roll Strlckland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough, Department of Envlrorumental Quality. A single test hole was put down within the Lot 4 area for the pu~ose of deEinlng general subsurface soil conditions. Excavation was accomplished with a tractor- mounted back hoe and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 7.0 fec~c. The final log prepared for the test hole has been included in Drawing A-01. The test hole is considered to represent the material lying within the lot boundaries. The soil profile disclosed by the test hole indicated 1.0 feet of organic material overlying a gray silt with a trace of clay to a depth of 2.5 feet below ground sur- face. At this depth, a gray silty sandy gravel with cobbles (GM) was encountered and extended to a depth of 7.0 feet below ground surface. At this depth the test hole had to be terminated due to a water table and material sloughing which was en- countered at 6.5 feet. The soils were visually classified in accordance with the Urd- ~ied Classi~ed System. We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you. Should you have any questions with regard to the above, please do not hesitate to contact us. Very truly yours, R & M ENGINEERING & GEOLOGICAL CONSULTANTS James W.
