I. Comments
In light of the testimony from the Fire Department staff at thc
October 4, 2000 meeting, the Board asked if there will be a
requirement for a 30-foot clearing around structures for fire safety
and what impact that will have on slope stability and retention of
natural vegetation. Staff responded that the Planning Department
will be represented on a state-wide group that will have its initial
meeting in two weeks. This is one of the issues that will be
addressed. Fire safety personnel from a number of agencies will be
members of this working group. It is anticipated that this
committee will have recommendations within three months which
may result in modifications to Title 21.
