Box 1966§0 Anchorage, AK 99519 REF: Lot 14, Block 3 Eklutna Heights Dear Mr. Morris: The enclosed application is submitted for issuance of a septic upgrade permit for a 3 bedroom home usage on the above referenced lot. The lot currently has a seepage pit that was installed in 1972. The owner has agreed to install a new leachfield and a new soil log has been performed. The area does not have a ground water problem, therefore the design calls for a deep trench. The existing pit will be properly abandoned and a 500 gallon septic tank will be installed in series between existing 750 gallon tank and trench. No waivers are required for installation. GENERAL The drawing and or site plan shall be a part of this specification. 2. Ail materials and workmanship shall meet the requirements of the Anchorage Department of Health and State D.E.C.. All so±l tests are advisory to the design and are to be verified or modified in the field by the engineer. 4 All excavations and depths are advisory and are to be verified or' modified in the field by the contractor to meet MOA, D.E.C require- ments. It is the responsibility of the owner to obtain all necessary permits or' easements and to locate any adjacent multi-family wells. 6. The excavation is to be exactly in the area shown on the site plan any deviation requires engineer approval. 7.. It is always recommended that a surveyor locate the nearest lot line position and the location of any easements~ B. DRAINFIELD 1. The drainfield is to follow 'the natural land contour to maintain uniform total depth of the trench bottom. 2. The bottom of the trench shall be level, plus or minus i~5". The total depth of the trench excavation is not to exceed 14' at any point 4. The sewer line is to be connected to the existing sewer- line that leads to the existing seepage pit. If the existing line is not usable it should be relaoed, in front of the septic tank. 5. The existing seepage pit is to be pumped out, caved in and filled with soil with a mounding to allow for settlement. The trench gravel is to be covered with typar fabric material. 7., Soil or combination of soil and extruded board insulation to a deptls ct~ 4' or equivalent is to be placed over the drainfield. 8. The area over the bed is to be finish graded to prevent ponding of surface waber runoff,. The septic tank and leaohfield must not be closer than 100 feeb to any existing private well, 150' to any Class "C" well, or 200 feet 'to any community well.
