All construction shall be in accordance with:
1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska
Wastewater Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80)
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing
Special Provisions:
1. The septic system may not be used until the existing well is decommissioned and the proposed well is drilled.
The proposed well does not meet the required separation to the existing septic system and may not be drilled
until the new system is in use. There may be a few days between getting the well drilled and getting the new
septic system hooked up.
2. A Well Decommissioning Log is required prior to Inspection Report approval.

Ref: Proposed Well and Septic System Upgrade for De Armoun; Lot 13
To whom it may concern:
Per conversations with the owner, the existing home will be torn down and the existing septic
system will be decommissioned per upc. In addition, per the request of the homeowner, the
existing well will be decommissioned per MOA code and a new well will be drilled to the
northeast (see attached design drawings). Per the owner, the new home will be 5 bedrooms,
and the new septic system is designed for 5 bedrooms. We are proposing to decommission the
existing well and septic systems (per UPC and MOA code) and install a new 1530-gallon two
compartment infiltrator septic tank, dual deep trench type drainfields, and drill a new well.
Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See attached 2019 testhole by Garness Engineering Group, Ltd. which shows, soil
classification, percolation test and groundwater monitoring.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface water concerns.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: There are no topography concerns.
S. WAIVERS: We are requesting that your department issue a variance from drainfield to lot line
of 3'. The proposed drainfield does not enchroach on the existing drainfield to north.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic

Septic System Owner -installer Agreement
A real estate property owner (Owner) may install their own septic system.
The department may issue an approval fora homeowner to perform work on a conventional
(not AWWTS) on-site wastewater disposal system to serve that individual's owner -occupied,
single-family or duplex home if the homeowner satisfies and agrees to the following
requirements.
The property owner and excavation equipment operator may perform work on no more than
one owner installed project in a 12 -month period.

1. My experience installing septic systems is as follows.

Dear Ms. Warnecke:
At your request, this department inspected the sewer and
water facilities at the above location on August 1. 1973.
The 50' individual well is of approved construction. A
water sample was obtained and the bacterial analysis sat-
isfactory.
The sewer system is disapproved by this department for the
following reasons:
I. It is questionable if there is a septic tank.
2. The seepage pit or cesspool has water standing
high in the 4" cleanout pipe indicating the
system is plugged sufficiently and draining
slowly.
3. The well is located 90' to 94' from the sewer
system falling short of the 100' minimum re -
requirement.
For this department's approval, a new sewer system will
have to be installed, a Borough permit obtained to in-
stall, and the system inspected prior to backfilling it
over. The existing system will have to be.pumped and
filled in with earth or rock.
