Date 337-6179 Engineer's Comments: In conducting this evaluation, AWWC, Inc. attempted to provide a thorough, conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with ADEC and MOA DSD Guidelines & Regulations. The reported results described the performance of the system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational life of all wells and septic systems depend on the local soils condition, groundwater levels that may fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system. These conditions are outside the control of the evaluator of the system. Satisfacto~ test results do not guarantee future performance of the system, nor do they guarantee that there are no hidden defects or encroachments. A WWC, Inc. can therefore not provide any warranty or future estimate of how long the system will continue to meet the operational requirements of the ADEC or MOA DSD. At the beginning of the test water level was found at 24 feet below top of casing. At a pumping rate of 3.5 gallons per minute the water level did not change. THIS WELL WILL PRODUCE MORE THAN 3 GALLONS PER MINUTE FOR MORE THAN FOUR HOURS The Municipal requirement for well flow is 150 gallons of water per bedroom per day. This ;veil exceeds this requirement. The assessment of the condition of the well applies only to the conditions as of the day tested. The flow rate may change due to subsurface conditions that may not be observed from the surface, and changes in tile land use and other factors that may impact the aquifer feeding the well. Anchorage Water and Waste Utility shows a record of attempted dye tests for your house, but to date none has been completed. AWWU also shows that you obtained a permit to connect to public sewer on March 24, 1983, but it was not completed either. Anchorage Municipal Code 15.65.030B requires that a lot containing less than 40,000 square feet must be connected to a public sewer line if it is available. In this case the line is available to your lot, and is stubbed to your property line. You are hereby notified to make the connection to public sewer within ]_4 days of this date. In addition, you will be required to completely pump the existing septic tank and seepage pit, and render both inoperative. Subsequently they must both be excavated, caved in and filled with suitable material. We will require a pumping receipt and written evidence that abandonment of the system did occur.
