4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather must either:
A. Open and Close on the same day.
B. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing.

existing layout for the installation of a new gravity flow, ~ gallon tank. The existing tank has started to

Dear Mr. Davis:
On March 22, 1977, at the request of :.~s. Kay Davis, our office conducted
a percolation test on the existing sewage disposal system located on the
above described lot.
The following ~ahle represents the level of the liquid in the drainfield.
The depth of liquid in the drainfield was initially 0.1 feet above the
bottom of the drainage trench. For the test, the liquid level was
measured from the bottom of the drainage trench.

The meter used during the test was a Rockwell 5/8" standard water meter.
The meter had previously been calibrated by R & M Consultants, Inc.
The septic tank had not been pumped prior to the percolation test.
Since the house on the lot concerned was occupied, it can be assumed
that the leach field in question was at its normal degree of saturation.
If it is assumed that the existing four bedroom ~ouse will house eight
people, the average daily load on the disposal system can be expected to
be 600 gallons per day, or 0.42 gpm.

Since the existing disposal system accepted 1.92 gpm, we would conclude
that the leach field is presently performing in a satisfactory manner
for the attached private residence.
