Two testholes were excavated on the property and logged by GEG, Ltd. The septic systems will be designed within the 30 foot radii of these testholes. Comments regarding the proposed design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: Attached are two logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. BED DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no permanently flowing surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached topography site plan, the topography in the area is relatively flat. In short, there are no slope concerns. 5. WAIVER FOR BED WIDTH: Due to site constraints, we are proposing to construct a 20 foot wide bed. Care will be taken during construction to keep the heavy equipment from driving over the bottom of the bed. 6. LOT LINE WAIVER: Due to site constraints, we are requesting a 1 foot lot line waiver to the north and east lot line. The septic tank was pumped and verified to have a capacity in excess of 1000 gallons. The seepage pit was charged with 1000 gallons of fresh water and after a period of 24 hours 825 gallons had percolated out of the crib. It can be concluded from this test that the waste water disposal system serving the three bedroom residence located on this property is currently functioning adequately. However, the system cannot be guaranteed against subsequent failures.
