The old system had no clean-outs so the system was excavated in three locations to determine what condition the system was in. The field was found to be working but could not absorb the required flow for a standard COSA test. All of the field was found to be as per the MOA data file, see the new site plan. A new system has been designed (see OSP 241129) however we are requesting a conditional COSA until the middle of March for the final closure of the COSA. Our justification is we had two adults were living in this home for the past 10 years with no issues and the system had no history of backup or over flow. Plus, the new owners are just two adults and should have no additional impact on the system, per the realtor. If the system has any issues the tank will be pumped as required for additional safety. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of July 29, 1975, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated December 19, 1974 by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality. A single test hole was put down within the Lot 7 area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with an auger type drilling rig and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 20.0 feet below ground surface. The final log prepared for the test hole has been included in Drawing A-01. Ground water was encountered in the test hole at a depth of 11.5 feet.
