CIVIL · SA#/TARY February 11, 1983 Mr. Ed Pogue Box 130, Citation Eagle River, AK 99577 Re: Septic System Adequacy Test, Lot 3d, Eagle River Valley Ranchettes Dear Mr. Pogue, On February 10 I conducted an adequacy test on the septic system at the above listed property. The system was able to take ample surge and the absorption rate was suffi- cient; the system is adequate. During the test, 1500 gallons of clean water were introduced into the absorption system. The system took this without any signs of backup. The rate of drop in the trench was measured and an absorption rate of 0.35 gal/min or 504 gal/day was calculated. For a two-bedroom house, the suggested pass/fail criteria require that a 350 gallon surge be contained and an absorption rate of at least 300 gal/day be demonstrated. ~~ ~ ~_~.. , J~_~ ~0 As part of the test, !1200-1500 gallons of.liquid and sludge were pumped from the'septic tank.. Klovetad 130 Citation Street Eagle River, AK 99577 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Klovetad: Per your request, a sewer system adequacy test was performed at the referenced property on June I$ and 14, 1979. The septic tank was pumped and found to have a capacity of 1,000 gallons. The seepage pit, however, was completely full of water at the time of inspection and approximately 900 gallons had to be removed. The pit was then recharged with 600 £allons of water. At the end of a 24 hour period, the water level in the pit indicatid that no measurable amount. of water had percolated from the'structure. The septic tank is adequate' for a two to three bedroom residence; however, I regret to inform you that the seepage pit has failed.. It will be necessary for you to obtain a soil test to determine thc absorption capability of the soil so that an upgrading o£ the system can be performed. An upgrading permit can be obtained from the ~nicipality.
