All construction shall be in accordance with:
1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska
Wastewater Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80)
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:

b. ed, and heated to pre ening
Special Provisions:
1. Locate the north end of the existing trench and repair the cleanout and monitor tube prior to construction
to ensure that the tank and new field meet all required separations.
2. Proposed trench is longer than 50', the distribution pipe is to enter in the middle.

Septic system design
Dear On-Site Services Engineer:
The owner of the above lot has a septic system that has reached end of life. The attached site plan
identifies the location of the home as well as new proposed septic location. No conflicts exist
between this proposed system and any other well or septic system, whether on this lot or adjacent
lots.
The ground surface on the lot is generally flat, with no slopes greater than 5% in the area where
the septic system is. Contours are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow.
Stormwater drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel
to the slope as much as possible.
We have reviewed the file and have decided to construct the same basic trench in the alternate site
as specified in the original permit drawings. The original drawings meet current code. We are also
specifying a diverter valve to allow the homeowner to switch back to the original trench once that
has recovered.
This and surrounding lots are served by city water. Approximate water line is shown, incoming
from the street. The new system will be a minimum of 100’ from all wells and surface water, and
more than 5’ away from the septic tank. Please refer to the attached plan and profile pages for the
septic design. If this design is followed, there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties.

We are submitting an application for the installation ora septic system for this lot. The submittal
consists of three (3) drawings showing the present improvements on the lot and the adjoining
properties, (sheet 1/3), the proposed improvements of the lot, of which only the septic system is
subject to this permit application, (sheet 2/3), and a schematic ofthe septic system, (sheet 3/3). Soil
logs and percolation tests of applicable testholes are also enclosed. The septic system design is
based on the soil report enclosed.
