The construction of the reference project will consist of furnishing and installing approximately 4,661 linear feet of 8 inch, class 50 ductile iron sewer pipe, 13 manholes - type A, 4 manholes - special type B, a sanitary cleanout and other related appurtenances in the Abbott Loop Manor Subdivision. The plans and specifications are approved for matters of concern to this Department. However, it should be noted that the reference project does encounter some water and sewer crossings. Specifically, no joint of the new sewer pipe will be laid closer than 9 feet horizontal to the centerline of any existing water line. Also, sewer and water crossings will be laid to provide a minimum vertical distance of 18 inches between the outside of the water main and the outside of the sewer pipe. In accordance with Title 18 of the Alaska Administrative Code Chapter 72 (18 AAC 72.021,a) , a Mr. Mark A. Newell , P.E. , submitted a report for ADEC's review and consideration to waive established separation distances to construct, maintain and operate portions of Abbott Loop Manor LID No. 132 closer to drinking water sources. More particularly, construction of the referenced project will require a waiver to encroach upon the well radius of seven wells adjacent to this project. In recognition of the report and the plans and specifications for the proposed sewer line, the following separation distances are approved instead of that required in Table A of 18 AAC 72.021. 1 .
