This inspection revealed an arsenic concentration of 25.2 micrograms per liter (ug/L) for the property's well water sample. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 10.0 ug/L for public drinking water systems. While private wells are not subject to this regulation, EPA standards are based on existing health information and can therefore be used to gauge the relative quality of water from private wells. To whom it may concern: GEG, Ltd. made a site visit on 7/2/2009 to the subject property for the purpose of performing a COSA inspection. During our inspection, it was noted that the septic tank and part of the drainfield are located directly under the driveway. Also, the distance from the tank to the drainfield was not defined in the original inspection report and we are unable to determine the separation distance, due to the fact that a post -tank cleanout is not present. We request that your department approve this septic system in its current state. The following items are justification for approval: The drainfield and tank were insulated, per the inspection report. The current system was approved by your department in 1990 in the same condition. The system appeared to be functioning properly and no depression was seen above the tank or drainfield.
