Subject:
SANITARY SEWER SERVICE TO THE TEXACO INC. BUILDING ON
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ROAD (LOT 3, BLOCK 6, ADA #01958)
Dear.Mr. Ohlsson,
/
Sewer Engineering recommends that the subject building not connect to
sanitary sewer at this time for the following reasons:
-1) The main line ih ~n~ernational Airport Road is shallow. Sewer
service from this main to the subject building would be marginal and
probably would be a constant maintenance problem in the winter.
2) The danger and inconvenience of interupting the underground utilities
(particularly the three high voltage power line serving the Airport) is not
Justified for a substandard service connection.
The Sewer Utility.'plans to rehabilitate the main line in International
Airport Road and lower the line at some later date. When the line is
lowered, the subject building will he required to connect to sanitary
sewer.

.C.W. Rather, P.E.

Test Hole and Soil Log Report for Sanitary System
International Airport, Lot 6, Blo6k 3
ADA 2688 and ADA 1955, Anchorage, Alaska
Dear Mr. Wilson:
We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments
regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This
vest/gation was perfoz~ned in accordance with your request of November 10,
1976, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated July 15, 1975, by
~. Rolf Strickland of the Munlcipality of Anchorage, Department of
Environmental Quality.
A single test hole was put'down within the subject site'area for the
purpose of defining general subsurface s0il conditions for the proposed
sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with an auger type drilling
.rig and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 20 feet below ground
surface. The final log prepared for the test hole sas been included in
Drawing A-01.
Groundwiter was not encountered in the test hole wh~le drilling.
A percolation test was perform, ed from a depth ~ndicated and reflects
average infiltrat~0n from that depth to'the bottom of the hole.
We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you.
Should you have any questions with regard to the above, please do not
hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours,
