Well and Septic Design for Lot A-5B, Siefker #2 Subdivision To whom it may concern: The proposed 5 bedroom house will be served by a private well and septic system. Test holes were excavated on the property. The proposed septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radii of test hole #1 and #2. We are proposing that a 1500 gallon septic tank and a five foot wide drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the proposed design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: Attached are logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. The soils below the organic layers are a material (primarily SW/GW soils) to a depth of 8.$ feet in TH#1. The soils below the organic layers in TH#2 are a material (primarily SM and GW soils) to a depth of 4 feet and 12.5 feet respectively. Both holes were dug to a depth of 15 feet. No groundwater was encountered during the excavation of the test holes. A percolation test for TH#1 was performed betxveen the depth of 6.5 feet to 7 feet which had a percolation rate of<l minute/inch. A percolation test for TH#2 was performed between the depth of 6.5 feet to 7 feet which had a percolation rate of<l minute/inch. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, a application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/ft2 should be used. 2. TRENCtl DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: <1 minutes/inch b. C. d. De. sign Flow: 750 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 625 ft2 f. Total Depth: 6 feet (max.) g. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed upgrade. 4. TOPOGRAPIIY: As can be seen on the attached topography site plan, the average slope of this lot is less than 5 percent running from east to west; in short, there are no slope concerns. The trench is to be installed parallel to slope contours. I am unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems. We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of June 29, 1976 and those procedures outlined in a letter dated July 15, 1975, by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality. A single test hole was put down within lots A -5B and A -5C for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for -the proposed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with an auger_lype drilling rig and the Test Holes 1 and 2 were extended to a total -depth of­'20'feet below ground surface. The final logs prepared for the test holes have been included in Drawing A-02. The approximate location of the test holes is shown in Drawing A-01. Ground water was not encountered in either test hole while drilling. A percolation test was performed for Test Hole 2 and the results are included herein.
