Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Subject: New sewer & well permit - Eagle Crest S/D, First Addn., Lot 37 Gentlemen: The owner has requested we proceed forward to obtain a well and septic permit on the subject lot. On September 14, 1999 we dug one testhole for the proposed system. The results of this test are attached. The general slope of this lot is from south to north of approximately 2 - 5% except for the front of the lot, which slopes towards the road and at the rear of the lot, which slopes towards the south. This property has been filled and we are proposing to place the septic field within the insitu material located in the northern portion of the lot. Although there is a manmade swale in this area there is no open water evidence throughout the site or on the adjacent property. We have designed our system utilizing the eastern testhole we excavated for the 4-bedroom house, which is proposed for this lot. An individual well will serve the lot. We propose to install a 5' wide deep trench. Due to the presence of ground water we have maintained a 4' separation from high water established during monitoring. Water was encountered during the excavation at 7' below ground level and at 6.5' on October 21~r during our monitoring. There are no public or private wells within 200' of our proposed system location except as noted. There is no surface water within 100' of the proposed system and there are no known curtain drains within 50'. We do not expect there to be any adverse effect on adjacent lots by the development of this system. If you have any questions, please contact me at 696-6111/FAX 696-8111.
