Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: Lot 8, Block 4 Drake S/D Septic Upgrade Permit Gentlemen: After your department rejected my last proposal due to the presence of organics below the proposed system, we located an alternate site for the drain field. This location is adjacent to the existing well. We excavated two testholes in the northwest portion of the lot. We discovered poorly graded sands and gravels to a depth of ten feet. Water was monitored through the spring high water. The water stabilized at a depth of three feet below the ground surface. I proposed installing an intermittent dosing ,sand filter with a 1250 S.T.E.P. tank. The existing well will be abandoned and relocated to the eastern portion of the lot. Please see the attached soil logs and revised design. The proposed installation will not affect the surrounding lots, most of which are either undeveloped or served by public water and sewer.
